Dialogue coaching distinguishes itself from "normal" coaching because the reflection happens during the actual dialogue between people at the workplace. The coach is present during the conversation, and, depending on the agreement that has been made, time can be made at that moment for the reflection, or directly after the conversation, together with the participants. It gives insight in the way people communicate with each other, and in how to improve that. The power of dialogue coaching is to be found in the "here and now" intervention. It is also possible to record the dialogue as video and discuss it with the coach afterwards.
Changes are hard to manage. Whether it is about changes of structure, change of method or about behavioural and cultural changes, in all cases it is about changes that have an impact on people. The successfulness of the change therefore depends on the degree to which the people embrace the change and continue to build upon it. Leadership is focused on enabling people to contribute to organisational changes and goals of the company from their own power and motivation. Leadership is about "putting meaning on things together", in order to move people to be willing to contribute to the change and the successfulness of the organisation. The realisation of a complete transformation requests a substantial contribution from the leader, within which the leader is to be of service as well.
